Les nouvelles règles - The new rules

$3 - Détermination des 1.000 sommets de la liste

Art. 3.1

Ces 1.000 sommets sont présentés selon 12 séries et ont été sélectionnés depuis l'origine du challenge selon des critères sportifs, médiatiques ou touristiques, via des managers régionaux spécialisés et réputés.

Les 12 séries ont un quota déterminé

Art. 3.2

Les 50 ascensions de la série 12, appelée Hors Europe, ne seront jamais déterminées par le Comité de sélection du BIG mais seront au libre choix du membre. La moyenne des dénivelées présentées devra toujours être supérieure à 500m (soit 25.000m au total de la série). Le membre déclarant un numéro de 951 à 1.000 (série 12) doit donc impérativement accompagner sa déclaration du nom de l'ascension réalisée et de sa dénivelée.

Art 3.3

Pour les 11 premières séries les sommets sont fixés. On peut les visionner dans la "liste des 1.000" et les analyser dans le "Passacol" .

Toutefois, un groupe international appelé " GIO" (groupe international organisateur) a la possibilité d'effectuer des changements dans la liste des 1.000 chaque année

Art. 3.4

Ce groupe du GIO est composé d'un représentant volontaire par pays (ou groupe de pays isolés) si ce pays a au moins 5 membres inscrits.

Un représentant supplémentaire est octroyé à chaque pays pour un minimum de 30, 55, 80 et enfin 105 membres inscrits.

A chaque fois qu'un pays atteint un de ces minimums requis, le BIG propose le poste ouvert aux membres cotisants de ce pays.

Ce poste est octroyé au membre le plus ancien parmi les volontaires qui répondent à cette proposition endéans les 7 jours.

Un pays a au maximum 5 représentants au GIO.

Le représentant doit participer au forum de discussion sur les changements au mois d'octobre et voter en novembre.

Art 3.5

Le GIO doit suivre les deux règles suivantes :

GIO 001.
Quand un sommet ne peut plus être atteint par aucun versant intéressant, parce que la route a été détruite, que le revêtement est vraiment impraticable ou que la route a été fermée à jamais, le GIO remplacera l'ascension par une autre. Cette nouvelle ascension sera choisie dans la même zone et la même région.

GIO 002.
Le GIO a la possibilité de changer 5 autres noms maximum par an. Le GIO peut ainsi mettre 5 nouveaux noms à côté de 5 numéros chaque année. Les nouveaux prennent la place des anciens pour le futur, pas pour le passé. 5 est un maximum, pas une obligation.

Art. 3.6

Dans ce dernier cas, les 5 changements maximum sortent d'un vote interne au GIO chaque année en novembre.

Ce vote est établi par addition de cotations individuelles données par chaque représentant du GIO, établies au sujet des propositions de changements émanant des membres inscrits. Ces propositions doivent être motivées (motivations si possible prouvées par des pièces jointes) par au moins l'un des trois critères suivants :

* la difficulté (l'ancienne était très facile et il existe vraiment une ascension plus pentue dans la région)

* la médiatisation (l'ancienne n'est plus dans les courses de catégorie 1 mais par contre la nouvelle située dans la même région s'y trouve pratiquement chaque année ces derniers temps)

* le tourisme (l'ancienne n'avait aucun intérêt réellement touristique et est semblable à ses voisines alors que la nouvelle est devenue une grande attraction régionale)

Point 3.1

The 1.000 summits are presented according to 12 series and were selected since the origin of the tournament according to athletic, media criteria or touristic criteria, via the specialized and renowned managed regional knowledge

The 12 series have a determined quota

•  12 Remainder of the world 50

Point 3.2

The 50 ascensions of the series 12, called Remainder of the world, will never be determined by selection by the Committee of the BIG but will be to the free choice of the member. They will have an average height always surpassing the 500M of the height difference (be 25.000m altogether series). The member declaring a number of 951 to 1000 (series 12) has therefore imperatively to accompany his declaration of the name of the realized ascension and of the height difference.

Point 3.3

For the first 11 series the summits are set up. One can view them in the "lists of the 1.000" and analyse them in the "Passacol". Nevertheless, an international group called "GIO" (organizing international group) has the possibility of effecting changes in the list of the 1.000 each year

Point 3.4

This GIO group is composed of voluntary representatives by countries (or group of isolated countries), if this country has at least 5 registered members.

An additional representative is granted to each country for a minimum of 30, 55, 80 and finally to 105 registered members.

Whenever a country attains more registered members than the required minimum, the BIG proposes creating a GIO post open to the contributing members of this country. This post is granted to the member who has been registered for the longest period among the voluntary members that reply to this suggestion within 7 days.

Each country has a maximum of 5 representatives to the GIO.

The representative must participate in the discussion forum on the changes to the month in October and vote in November.

Point 3.5

The GIO must follow the two following rules:

GIO 001. When a summit can no longer be reached because the road was destroyed, and the way is really impracticable or the road is closed permanently, the GIO will replace the ascension by another. This new ascension will be chosen in the same zone and it same region.

GIO 002. The GIO has the possibility to change 5 other names maximum each year. The GIO can therefore put 5 new summit names next to the same 5 numbers each year. The new ones take the place of the old for the future, but not for the past, 5 is the maximum but this is not an obligation.

Point 3.6

In the latter cases, the 5 changes maximum go out by an internal vote of the GIO each year in November. This vote is established by the addition of individual quotations given by every representative of the GIO, established on the subject of the suggestions of changes emanating by the registered members. These suggestions must be motivated (motivations if possible proved by accompanying proofs) by at least it one of the three following criteria:

•  Difficulty (the previous climb was too easy and there exists an ascension more challenging in the region)

•  The media quality (the previous climb doesn't appear in class 1 professional races but on the other hand the new one situated in the same region is practically each year included in one fabulous broadcasted professional race in the region)

•  Tourism (the previous climb has no real tourist interest and is very similar to its neighbours while the new one has became a big regional attraction)
