DESCRIPTION

Prenant la route de Leonidio à Kosmas, on se rend compte que c'est un incontournable. La route étroite longe d'abord les gorges de Badron et s'envole tout doucement au gré de nombreux lacets dans les méandres de la montagne du Parnon (ou Parnonas). Après quelques kilomètres, on voit le monastère de Panagia Elona, spectaculairement installé dans les flancs de la montage, et maintenant ouvert au public. Kosmas Kynourias est un village historique dans la province d'Arcadie, bâti dans la montagne à une altitude de 1150m, juste avant le col qui transperce le massif du Parnon. Bâti comme un amphithéâtre au milieu des arbres fruitiers, avec une vue imprenable sur la mer d'Argosaronikos, avec de l'eau naturelle et une dense forêt à foison.

Taking the road from Leonidio to Kosmas is a definite must. The narrow road runs along the Badron Gorge at the start and winds it's way up and up through the Parnonas Mountains. After about a few kilometers you see the monastery of Panagia Elona, set spectacularly in the cliff side. The monastery is now a convent, open to the public (suitably clad) from dawn to dusk. The road continues through woodland where a sculptor sells his wares (or did in those days.)
Kosmas Kynourias is a historical village in the province of Arcadia. It is built on top of the mountain Parnonas, 1150 m above sea level. At the point where it lays geographically, Kosmas crosses through Parnonas Mountain. It is built amphitheatrically amongst fir and chestnut trees, with an open horizon looking towards Argosaronikos sea, with fresh cold water and the dense forest is in abundance
