Voici l'ascension la plus renommée de Bulgarie au point de vue historique. Le monument au sommet accessible après l'escalade (encore) de nombreuses marches témoigne de la victoire des russes sur les turcs afin de libérer, grâce au combattant Levski, l'indépendante Bulgarie. Les Bulgares en sont très fiers. L'ascension tourniquote dans les arbres et comme il s'agit d'un axe nord-sud très prisé entre Veliko Tarnovo, l'ancienne capitale, et Plovdiv, la route est fort fréquentée et par ailleurs, fort bien revêtue. Le final est un peu plus abrupt mais l'ensemble est très régulier et se monte au train.

Here is the most historical climb of Bulgaria. On the top, a big monument commemorates the victory of the russians against the turkish people for the freedom of Bulgaria with the help of the fighter Levski. Axially north-south, linking Veliko Tarnovo, the ols capital, and Plovdiv, the road has an heavy trafic and of course is well surfaced. Only the last part is a little steep but the whole climb is quite regular.
